Website Cookie Policy
In this Cookie Policy, “MET”, “we”, “us” and “our” shall mean MET Holding AG as data controller in relation to the technical operation of the www.met.alumni.com website.
Apart from information you provide to us knowingly, our website uses tracking technologies (“cookies”) to gather information about the use of our website and optimize our services.

What are the cookies?
Cookies are small text files containing small amounts of data about what you do when you visit a website, which are placed on your computer by the websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more effectively, and to provide information to website owners. The usage of cookies is standard today on most websites.
In terms of the retention period on your device, cookies can be:
- Session cookies. These are such temporary cookies that remain in the browser's cookie file until the user closes the website. These cookies are essential for the operating of the website‘s certain applications and functions.
- Persistent cookies. Our website also uses persistent cookies to ensure a better user experience. This type of cookie stays in the cookie file of the user's browser for a longer time. This period depends on how the user has set up their web browser. The persistent cookies provide information to the web server whenever the user visits the website. The persistent cookies are also called tracking cookies.
Does any other party use the information gathered via cookies from the website?
Our website may include services provided by third parties. These third parties may also use cookies (likely to be analytical/performance cookies), over which we have no control.
Some pages of the website transmit content and services from third party service providers, e.g. by YouTube or LinkedIn. Access to such content or services (e.g., share an article on a LinkedIn page) requires that you accept the terms of use of that third party. By accepting the third-party’s terms of use, you also agree to the third party's policy on the handling of cookies.
The website may also contain beacons or pixel-tags. A beacon is typically a transparent graphic image, usually no larger than 1x1 pixels, that is placed on a web page or in an email to monitor the online activity of a person who visits the website or sends an email. The beacons are used by third parties’ technologies to monitor the activity of the visitors of our website (e.g. Facebook pixels). This allows to gather information about which websites when and where (country, city) were visited through which computer.
